Extra Curricular Activities : Shaping a Complete Personality

Vikash, that has a broad educational mission of developing the "whole student", believes that extra-curricular activities play a crucial role in personality developement. These activities inculcate different values amongst the students. By working together with other individuals, students learn to negotiate, communicate, manage conflicts, and lead others. The aim of extra-curricular activities is to make the students fit for the future time and to develop a sense of competitive spirit, co-operation, leadership, diligence, punctuality, and team-spirit as well as to provide a backdrop for the development of their creative talents. A wide and diversified range of extracurricular activities exist at Vikash campus, meeting a variety of students' interests.

Art & craft-

Our faculties are well-versed to unleash each student's inherent talent by guiding them through various techniques and helping them achieve their aspirations. Students interested in fine arts have a plethora of extracurricular opportunities in which they can actively participate. They can prepare beautiful crafts from waste and recyclable materials. A number of students have brought laurels to the institution by their success in State and National level competitions.

Dance & Music-

Dance & Music can truly demonstrate various customs, traditions, community culture, aspirations and accomplishments of human beings as they are embedded with various values and beliefs of common man. Activities including plays, musicals, and dance concerts offer a chance for students to demonstrate their dramatic abilities. At Vikash though students are trained for both Indian and western dance and music but priority is given towards Indian classical and folk dance forms and music. We have our own Folk Band & Rock Band of students who make us proud on many occasions by displaying their extraordinary mastery over both folk & western music.

Competitions-

Vikash promotes multi dimensional activities and competitions that include elocutions, debate, slogan writing, creative writing, recitation, quiz, song, dance, drawing, rangoli & various sports activities.

Writing for Wall Magazine-

"SABDARUPA", the wall magazine of VJC provides ample opportunities to the students to expose their writing and creative skills like writing prose, poetry, short story and decorating the magazine with their paintings and other works of art. Special editions are issued on special occasions like Independance Day, Nua Khai, Diwali, Annual Function etc.

Educational Tour-

Outdoor activities are essential grounds for a successful practical life. Every year the students of Vikash are being taken out of the college to the areas of adventure, art and culture and the places of historical values. we have already completed Educational tours to Kolkata, Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, Hyderabad, Vishakhapatnam, Manali, Simla, etc.
